The upper surface of a Heymat is made from nylon, type 6.6, weight 830 g/m2. Nylon has properties that are ideal for entrance mats, as moisture attaches itself to the surface of the fibres. When the mat is spun from thin fibre, the total effective surface area is far greater than what you see and is thus capable of holding a considerable amount of moisture.
Moreover, the heat-treated fibres give the mat a better scraping effect than, for example, a cotton mat with soft fibres. When you wipe your feet, dirt from your shoes disappears into the mat due to the structure of the surface.
The nylon mat also dries quicker than mats made out of other materials since moisture evaporate from nylon more efficiently.
The underside of the mat is made from nitrile rubber and is 1.5 mm thick. Nitrile rubber is resistant to all kinds of dirt and is extremely flexible.
The rubberized reverse enables the mat to lie solid and flat on the floor.
The production process behind a Heymat involves numerous manual operations. The mats therefore have fewer variations in size, colour and appearance.
Heymat satisfies EN ISO 9239-1 and in accordance with BS 4790 has a low degree of combustion.
After a while, the mats textile surface and the rubber backing will need a more thorough cleaning. This can be done by washing it on 40 degrees Celsius in a washer. Use a tumble dryer or let it hang somewhere it can breathe before putting it back. If your household washer doesn’t have the capacity to wash your mat, you can send it to us for a thorough cleaning done by professionals. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
